Delete your Bearing Life account

Bearing Life is made by P2 Reserve LLC. You can permanently delete your account and your family's information at any time, directly in the app. You do not need to contact us first, and there is no waiting period.

Delete your account in the app

1. Open Bearing Life on your phone and sign in.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Tap Account.
4. Tap Delete account.
5. Confirm your sign-in when asked. We verify it is really you before the deletion runs.

Once you confirm, the deletion runs immediately and cannot be undone.

Delete only some of your information

You do not have to close your account to remove information. Open the record in the app and choose Delete. This works for vault documents, medications, immunizations, appointments, tasks, and whole person profiles. Deleting a person profile removes the information attached to that person as well.

You can also remove someone from a care circle you own, which ends their access to it, under Family.

If you would rather we did it, email info@trybearinglife.com and tell us what to remove. We verify that you control the account before we act, and the retention notes below apply the same way.

If you cannot access the app

Email us at info@trybearinglife.com and ask. If your account has an email address, write from that address. If you sign in by text message and have no email address on your account, write from any address and tell us the phone number on the account. Either way we verify that you control the account before we act.

Request deletion by email

What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes your account and all data in the care circles you own, including:

• Your name, email address, phone number, account identifier, and connected Google or Apple profile
• Every person profile you created, with their dates of birth and contact details
• Health information: medications, immunizations, appointments, blood type, allergies, and medical notes
• Vault documents and the files behind them, along with their titles, categories, and dates
• Profile photos and document images
• Tasks, reminders, crisis plans, and Bearing Score history
• Your care circles, their invitations, and their permission settings. This also removes those circles for everyone in them
• Your device push notification token

What is kept, and for how long

• Backups. Your information is removed from our active systems right away. Removal from routine backups can take additional time as those backups age out.
• Security logs. IP addresses and request logs our infrastructure records automatically are kept for a limited period set by our infrastructure provider, unless a longer period is needed for security or legal reasons.
• Subscription records. If you subscribed to Bearing Plus, the record of your purchase is held by Google Play or Apple under their own policies. We delete your customer record at our subscription provider. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your Google Play or Apple account settings.
• Product analytics. Four one-time setup milestones (first open, finishing setup, adding your first care recipient, adding your first document) are held by our analytics provider and are not deleted automatically. Email us and we will delete them. They carry no names, document titles, or health information.
• Security audit trail. One category is deliberately never deleted, even when you delete your account: a security audit trail that records, for each change to a protected record, which account made it, what kind of change it was, and when. It holds no names, no health information, and no document contents, only account and record identifiers, which care circle the change belonged to, the kind of change, the name of the table it touched, and a timestamp. A security record that can be erased by the person it describes is not a security record.
• Circles you were invited to. If someone else invited you into their circle, that circle belongs to them. Deleting your account removes you from it, and their information stays with them.
